At Automotive Magic and Magic Lube & Rubber, we understand the importance of community. Our roots run deep in New Jersey, with many of our team members, including Shawn, being natives of Morris County. As a local business, we know we wouldn’t be where we are today without the incredible support of the people who live and work here. While we always strive to support local initiatives, youth sports teams, and the wonderful charities that do so much for our neighbors, there is one organization in particular that holds a special place in our hearts - Roxbury Social Services. This nonprofit plays a pivotal role in our community by providing essential support to those in need. One of their key programs is the food pantry, which is open to the public for free and offers a vital lifeline to families and individuals struggling to make ends meet.
As we enter the colder months, the need for support grows even more urgent. The temperatures are dropping, and the financial pressures of higher food and fuel costs are felt by many. Unfortunately, the holiday season isn’t the only time people face hardship; the reality is that the challenges of daily life continue year-round. This is especially true for families in our area who, while doing their best to break even, find it difficult to stay afloat.
Roxbury Social Services works tirelessly to help these individuals and families, and we’ve had the privilege of partnering with them in the past. This year, we decided to take a proactive approach and reach out to Eva, the compassionate director of the food pantry, to see what they were in the most urgent need of. To our surprise, the list included many basic items that we often take for granted but that are essential for daily life. Things like pasta, canned vegetables, and breakfast items—items that can make a huge difference for families in need.
It’s easy to think that food pantries are always well-stocked, especially around the holidays, but the reality is that they face many challenges. High demand combined with limited resources means that it’s a constant effort to keep up with the needs of the community. This is why we felt it was so important to step up and offer our help.
After receiving the Needs Listfrom Eva, we immediately went to our local ShopRite to purchase the requested items. It was a simple yet impactful gesture. With just a few minutes of our time and a small contribution, we were able to help restock some of the empty shelves at the food pantry. It’s amazing how even the smallest efforts can make a big difference in times of need.
We want to take a moment to recognize the incredible team behind Roxbury Social Services. The volunteers, staff members, and everyone involved with the food pantry go above and beyond to ensure that families in our community have access to the resources they need. They do it all with selflessness and compassion, and we’re proud to support their work.
